Upcoming Undergraduate Student Symposium

We are pleased to announce that the Tenth Undergraduate Student Symposium will take place on Wednesday, April 14, 2021. The symposium brings together the best of our undergraduate student research and offers an excellent opportunity for exchange between the cultures taught within our department.

The main purpose of the event is to bring the students of the Department together with the goal of mutual enrichment and better familiarization with each other’s work. The works presented by students do not have to be a major contribution to the advancement of scholarship. They should present their topics to the audience the majority of which is composed of people who have a rather limited expertise in the field it deals with. A good term paper skillfully adapted for the purpose is precisely what is needed in this case. Presentations may take place in English or in French.

The presentations can be organized in various formats according to the preferences of the presenters. It may be delivered as a paper or done as a PowerPoint presentation. The presentations should not take longer than 20 minutes, thus some term papers may have to be shortened.

The committee will select a total of fifteen (15) papers/presentations. It is, however, possible that not all suggested candidates will be accepted for the final list. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase the different languages and cultures taught in the Department.
